            Meet Vern, the Evil Sock Monkey      

              
           Vern is the secretive sock monkey.  There are things
           going on under that hat that would boggle the mind.
           He often scares visitors with his tendency to reply to
           any speech aimed at him with an evil laugh.  Vern is
           also a vengeful monkey if you cross him.  His favorite
           acts of revenge include:

                                   * Short-sheeting beds
       * Delivering ticking boxes labeled from the "Acme" Corporation
               * Plastering walls of your room with Vern posters
           * Hanging himself on a coat hanger outside your door

          These are the only things he has done fit for printing. 
          Vern also runs a secret sock gang and wears a skull
          necklace in its honor.  Vern sometimes hangs with
          Wendy, but mainly keeps to himself.  He also likes to
          surround himself with green things.  One of Vern's habits
          that creeps everyone out around here is his watching.  He
          spies and studies people, giving them the heebie-jeebies.
